The delta Marsh of Lake Manitoba is one of the world's great gathering places for migratory waterfowl. Since the 1930's the Marsh has attracted thousands of hunters to this lodge, The Sports Afield Duck Club.
Founded by the late Jimmy Robinson, the lodge has hosted personalities from all walks of life. Names like Hemmingway, Gable, Stack and British royalty have hunted here; for the legend as well as the sport.
Jimmy hunts these waters no more, but you can enjoy the camp, the shoot and the companionship. Jimmy Robinson was one of the world's most famous hunting writers and sportsmen; and editor for Sports Afield magazine, and the hunting partner of the biggest names in entertainment, politics and business. Jimmy Robinson passed away on June 21, 1986. Jimmy, Sportsman of the Century, is the only man to be in five halls of fames: Trapshooting, Fishing, Skeet, The Minnesota Hall of Fame and The Waterfowl Hall of Fame. He also wrote 14 books on shooting and hunting. |

Jimmy founded his first lodge in 1935 in a farmhouse near Portage Creek on the Delta Marsh. The present lodge was built in 1958 and is located in the Village of St. Ambroise, Manitoba, an hours auto trip from the Winnipeg International Airport.
The terrain is flat prairie country which includes thousands of acres of low water marshes. Waterfowl of all description natively "stage" each autumn prior to their final migration.
The camp is now owned and operated by Dick Wallin. Dick was a friend of Jimmy's having hunted and fished with him for the last 20 years.
